Grows in moist shady woods April-July. The l5-35 single-spurred pink flowers have the pedicel attached in the center.
The waxy blue pinnate leaves have long lancelike leaflets. 2-4 ft. Leaves alternate, usually 3, from near or above the middle of the stem. Large, much divided in parsley fashion.
