Telephone Provides Most Reliable & Affordable High-Speed
Internet Service Available in Area |
|
Nehalem
Telephone has been providing Internet service to the area
for over 8 years, and highspeed DSL service for the past 4
years. Now, over 95% of our customers have the access to DSL
service as we’ve expanded our network and added modems and
equipment. Nehalem Telephone is committed to providing the
best leading edge technology to our customers.368-3161
When considering Internet service, there are several options,
including wireless broadband service, but there are limitations.
With wireless service, there must be a clear line of sight
between antennas and other technological limitations, such
as incompatibility with other networks, that make widespread
use of wireless service questionable. Nehalem Telephone’s
DSL Internet technology and service is not hindered by weather,
trees or mountains, and it has been time tested, proven to
be fast and reliable.
We
make DSL service affordable by waiving the $95 installation
fee with a one-year signed contract. The monthly charge is
$47.90 ($32.95 for DSL, plus $14.95 for Internet), and you
can save $2.00 off this price if you are a Nehalem Telephone
long distance customer.
Be
sure to look at all your options for Internet service, and
when you’ve seen the rest, be sure to get the best – Nehalem
Telephone DSL Service. Call our office at 368-5116 to setup
a free in-home demonstration. Nehalem Telephone is your full-service
telecommunications company – bringing technology home.

Telephone Continues Season of Giving with Annual Donation to
Head Start Program |
|
|
Nehalem
Telephone’s commitment to the community continues with the
company’s annual donation to the local Head Start program.
Over $1,600.00 was given to Head Start in early December,
from NT&T’s employee donations, which were matched dollar-for-dollar
by the company. Head Start will use the money for Christmas
items and necessities for the\ children’s families the program
serves. This valuable educational program helps prepare kids
for school. Nehalem Telephone is proud to support this worthy
group and looks forward to helping out again in 2004.

New & Improved Telephone Bills Coming… |
|
Nehalem Telephone would like to let you know that in a short
time you can expect to see some changes on your statement.
They will have a new look to them. We will also be changing
our billing date, which has not yet been determined. Nehalem
Telephone will keep you informed on the changes as we move
forward and finalize details. We think you will find the
new statements easier to read. This is one of the few changes
due to the company’s new management. We are taking a proactive
stance to make sure we minimize errors that may happen during
a conversion process of billing companies. Our new company
has the capabilities to print and mail our billing directly
from the home office. We would like to encourage you to
contact our office at 503-368-5116 or 800- 350-5036, if
we have made any errors on your account. We hope that this
will not be an inconvenience to our customers during the
conversion process. We would like to hear from you so we
can make any changes before our next billing cycle. Please
be patient. You can expect to see the changes over the next
3 or 4 months.368- 6172

| Hello,
this is Steve... |
|
Since
our announcement that Nehalem Telephone is being sold, we
have received quite a bit of feedback from our customers regarding
the sale -- some positive and some negative. In general, people
dislike change … because change brings a level of uncertainty
and unfamiliarity. Change might appear especially difficult
when it involves a fixture in the community, such as Lee Dillard
and Nehalem Telephone.368-7634
Through
this experience, I’m reminded of a story regarding “Attitude.”
It goes like this:
A
traveler pulled into a gas station in a small country town.
As he was pumping his gas he asked the attendant, “What kind
of town is this? We are considering moving and wonder if this
might be the place.”
The
attendant responded, “What kind of town do you come from?”
The
traveler answered, “It is an awful place. The people are mean,
the local politics are messed up, It has a terrible school,
and it is ugly. That’s why we want to get out.” The attendant
paused and responded, “You won’t like it here, that is exactly
the kind of town this is.”
The
traveler continued on his journey.
Later,
second traveler came to the station with the same question.
“What kind of town is this? My company is asking me to relocate
to this area, and we wondered about this town.”
Again
the attendant responded with a question, “What kind of town
to you come from?” This traveler had a different answer, “It
is a wonderful place. The people are great, everyone helps
their neighbor, and it is beautiful. We hate to leave it.”
Without
hesitation the attendant replied, “That is exactly what kind
of town this is. You would love it here.”
“The
currents that determine our dreams and shape our lives flow
from the attitudes we nurture everyday.”
Attitude
is everything. We at Nehalem Telephone are greatly appreciative
and have the deepest respect for Lee Dillard and his family,
and what they have brought to our community. We wish them
well, and hope that they find happiness in their future plans.
At the same time, we look forward to working with the Martell
family, and are excited to see what the future will hold.
Until
next time …
Sincerely,
Steven C. Harper
Controller,
Nehalem Telecommunications Co.

Business in Area Helps Get Things Organized and Washed
The
rows of storage unites began to sprout just North of Nehalem
in April, 2003. By September, Bayside Self-Storage and Corkrey's
Laundramat were ready for customers. "We've only been
in business a few months, but the response has been good.
We have lots of units available," said owner Casey Corkrey.
If you are running out of storage room, just contact Casey
or Tari Corkrey for information about the 134 self-storage
units -- in sizes from 5x10 up to 10x30. The storage units
are heated and the Corkreys live on site.
Corkrey’s
Co-Op Laundry is also open at the same location, 36180 Hwy.
101 North providing area residents and visitors with a valuable
service with front load washers. The laundramat is open from
9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. After growing up in Seaside
and traveling the world, Casey Corkrey returned to the coast,
married Tari two years ago and plans to make his home in the
Nehalem Bay area. For more information about storage unit
rental and the coinoperated laundry, just call 368-3148.

Telephone Puts Out Call to Local Photographers
One of the unique qualities of Nehalem Telephone’s phone
book (besides its petite size) is the beautiful scenic
photos. For years (more than we can count), we request
that local photographers provide their best shots to
be considered for the telephone book cover.368-7967

photo requirements. The deadline for submitting your
