Perennial. Grows as a ground cover in moist woods May to August. Large palmately lobed leaves 4-8" wide below the green-white petalless flowers on a tall stem. 2-3 feet tall.
Flowers showiness largely due to the tufted white stamens, in flat-topped, stalked clusters. Widely rhizomatous perennial with stems scattered on rhizomes, producing colonies.
