Geranium erianthum

Grows along roadsides and in meadows, cleared areas, May-Sept.
Perennial, l-3 feet tall. Flowers pinkish purple, short stalked,
petals twice as long as very hairy sepals. 3-5 in loose clusters,
usually not much higher than leaves.
Leaves palmately divided into 3-5 irregularly lobed and toothed
segments. Fruit capsules with styles fused to form a central,
pointed column 1 inch long. When dry the column splits into 5,
each part propeling a single seed.
