Nettle
Urtica dioica
Grows in moist thickets, Jan-Oct. Flowers are greenish in
loose stringy clusters above each pair of velvety leaves. Armed
with painful stinging hairs. 3-7 ft. Perennial from strong spreading
rhizomes. Leaves opposite, narrowly lance-shaped to oval or heart-shaped,
coarsely saw-toothed.
